What If Your Kid Spent a Weekend Building Something Real?

Kids can build something real now - before college or even before they can drive. At Future of Education, we believe kids are limitless and they need more opportunities to prove it.

The Founders School Weekend Series does just this. It’s a free weekend designed to allow kids to turn an idea into something real, working alongside other young builders and learning by doing.

There are weekends for kids who want to start a business, build a product, or build an audience:

  • Founders Weekend: Turn an idea into a real business by finding customers, making sales, and getting paid.
  • Build Weekend: Use AI to turn an idea into a working product and build a real app that can go live on the internet.
  • Creator Weekend: Turn creative ideas into content people want to watch, follow, and share, and learn how to build an audience.

There are also specialized weekends, including Gaming and Robotics (dates and locations to be announced), giving kids even more ways to build something they’re excited about.

No long lectures. No pretending the project is real.

Real building. Real feedback. Real-world skills.

Kids practice creativity, problem-solving, communication, persistence, and digital fluency. They learn what it feels like to take an idea from “What if?” to “I made this.”

The Weekend Series is rolling out across Alpha School campuses in October 2026 with additional weekends and locations being added based on demand.

Spots are free, but limited. Families must apply for acceptance and dates vary by program and location.

We should give kids more opportunities to prove what they can do. Then get out of their way.

And this is just the beginning. Explore our free resources for more ways to help kids build, create, and prepare for the world ahead.
